Crysis Gold - Due 16th November

I love the bollock that guys is speaking!

EA and Crytek are "rewarding us" with this game!! lol I love it!!

So we're not rewarding them by buying it and making million for them??

I think it's good but honestly, it's just Far Cry with better graphics, and it's REALLY easy with that bloody suit! You can walk up to baddies and kill em with the camo option ffs. Are they all deaf as well as stupid??

I'm still gonna buy it, but you'd think it was the comming of ther messiah the way this spud head is talking!!

Oh, and COD4 will rule, not Crysis.

and its not just far cry with better graphics, its far more^^1000 times better game-play, stupid bots or not

i played through the demo 3 times at most difficult mode and its not goin to suck in any way^^

btw why the heck does CoD4 need sm 3.0 for ****s sake??(as crysis doesnt and look much much better)

Something I come to realize about you GR:AW/COD people... why do you guys not like fake things in a game? It's a big awesome suit, don't complain, like it! I thought the whole idea of a game was to be a nice different concept in which isn't possible in real life, for example, spiderman, awesome game, I don't ever count on swinging around any time soon, still like it though.

Or would you rather a game be realistic and kick the crap out of you? Do you really think one person went around in world war two, did all the major events, BY HIMSELF? I think he would've died, do you not?

I guess as you get to be old gits like us its nice to be able to relate the situations and equipment in games to things that can and are actually being used in real life, its interesting and educational.

when i was your age my favourite games were all very arcady but tastes change along with maturity hence the 18 age limit on GR (your lucky to even be here)

I think COD 4 brings the 2 genres, arcade and simulation closer together by allowing the use of REAL weapons and equipment in an more arcade feel of game play (would you ever take a RPG in the face and simply run it off ..... )

Dave,

Are you serious mate?? Honestly, look at Spiderman as a good game? A generic action film tie in? I can only imagine how good you must think COD4and Crysis are!! Let alone anthying from the beloved Orange Box.

The reason Crysis has that Bloody suit it to appease the half brain dead console tards who need to be able to run in shooting rather than trying to work out a better tactic.

We like a bit of realism because there are too many things that noobs can exploit. You can plan a perfect pincer attack, down to the smallest detail (and I don't single any particular game out here), get everyone to learn their roles so they can do it in their sleep. Then what happens?? A spotty 14 year old kills you because he's bunnyhopping, dolphin diving (insert your own exploit here). Basically, realism = Winning because you have the best tactics, are the best shot, have the best communications etc.

Not because you can jump about and make any 1 vs 1 encounter a 50/50 chance of winning.

If your gonna go that way then don't try and dress the game up as a real life version of whatever. Look at TF2? It's awesome, because it knows what it is. A fun, very very funny, over the top game. Realism goes out the window, and everyone just has a laugh.

Games have to employ mechanics that allow people to win because of their skills. Players should not win because of their ability to exploit flaw in the mechanics. QED I think??

Rant well and truly over!

But MGS4 is going to be about unrealism (gonna kick COD4 in the ass) since you have a suit which makes you blend in with anything, human chameleon, but it's all about tactics too, so it's a good mix between unrealism and the fact you can't run in and shoot everyone. But you still always need a good random run about jumping game, otherwise it'd just get boring :)

Oh, and I chose spiderman as an example as it's the most far off thing I could think of. And yeah, it is a good game.:)

MGS4 LOL looks like a cheap version of crysis to me. and remember we play games together! (thats the point of the team) nither crysis or MGS are any good for multiplayer tactics as far as i can tell.

It will only out sell COD4 on the xbox (if anywhere) due to loanly single player console geeks ;)

There is a glaring problem with all new gerneration console games.

Gorgeous high-res graphics - Check

Lovely Hi def sound - Check

HD/Blue ray player - Check

Innovative new game ideas - BIG FAT NO (insert sound bit of Family Fortunes puter here)

I have yet to play a PS3/Sexbox 360 game that has been nothing more that a re-hashed version of an old game with great graphics, anyone played Sega Rally? Utter crap! I hope MS will be better. That's why the Wii is so popular.

There are some failry innovative games around, but not many, Little Big World looks the best on PS3. The effect of this is that a lot of games now are console first, PC second and we end up getting a bog standard port a la R6 Vegas. GRAW 2 was an expetion thanks to GRIN, and COD 4 is in the same boat.
