Its bound to look good in that rolling demo because thats a console demo, you can tell by the rets and the way the rets are moved round the screen - its all straight lines.

Looks like it will be released on consoles first and the PC might get a look in later if we're lucky :(

and having just watched the first 10 mins of that "teaser", GR2 at the moment looks to me like a mix of SOCOM:Navy Seals, BHD, R6 3 (console) and a GR theme laid loosly in the background.

Hopefully the unreal engine will not be employed on the PC version of the game, because RvS' gay rag doll effect wont do it any favours in my opinion.

But overall the oportunity to have more than just 1 alt weapon is good, i think, it has the basic R6-3 HUD for changing and carrying upto 4 weapons instead of the usual 2.

Considering the GR following on the PC has always been the majority, i do sincerly hope that it comes to the PC, and not just staying on the sell out console market, its popularity stems from PC users, but as the demo shows it is currently in console form.

Okay, a few things there that scare me.

  1. Third person view. I'm that's just to illustrate character movements, gestures and skins - they did the same with RvS - but I did let out an audible, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
  2. Every round is a tracer. Am I the only one that noticed that every round fired looked like a laser beam? Won't be hard finding snipers in GR2. Just follow the beam of light back to his nest. One word...arcade.
  3. Quake rockets. You know, the M136 that travels about 150 yd in 1 second. Just another feature that made me think of an arcade game. The other spot I found funky was about half way through when he uses a M136 to collapse a building on an enemy sniper position...standing in the middle of the road...taking fire...from 50yd away...broad daylight...etc etc. There's another thing that I hope remains a mere illustration of Havok.

The rest of the gameplay involving the tangoes can be pretty well ignored. I liked watching the player NPC soldiers just go running by enemies and neither would look or shoot at the other. The game is visually spectacular. The Havok physics engine will be an impressive addition to the style and feel of the gameplay. I just hope they take all that ghey arcade crap out and remember the features that made the PC port such a success.

Oh, and take out the 'Mid-level Boss'. That helicopter swinging around kind of just reminded me of Operation Wolf for some reason.
