New Power Supply

Right, I need a new Power supply, as it's making some dodgy ass clicking noise occasionally whenever I play a game. However, since I think I'm gonna be upgrading my PC in a years time, I feel that I should get a good one now, to save myself having to buy another one then. Got my eye on this one, only I'm wondering how long you guys reckon it'll still be good for.

Reckon that'll still be a good PSU in a few years time? As I figure, if I update my comp in a years time, and keep that for a couple more years, you reckon this PSU will still keep up with it by then?

dude, what the hell do you need a psu for 100 bucks and that much power for??

well ok, the power is actually fine but man, i got myself an about 25 bucks 750w no-name psu.

and it's good. iT's got enough pci-e and s-ata plugs. Don't spend such an amount of money for a psu.

as long as it has at least 2 pci-e and 2 s-ata outputs and is ~ 800w you dont need to spend £100 unless you want a silent one.

Well I've currently got 2 internal hardrives and the DVD-R drive, and I want to set up another internal hardrive on top of that, and my PSU doesn't have enough slots to plug them all in. So basically, I need one that'll run a top-end rig 2-3 years down the line. I can't see a £25 PSU doing that to be honest.

So I need 4 Sata output slots minimum. Also, the one I linked is capable of SLI, and has a 5 year warranty, so I can see it being pretty full-proof.

I agree, £100 is a bit much, but it supports SLI which I'll almost be definitely getting, good warranty, long ass-life, plenty of ports, and since I need 4 SATA ports now, who knows how many I'll need later.
