Reeve publicist Wesley Combs told reporters the American actor, 52, died in a New York hospital on Sunday. He said in a statement Reeve went into a coma on Saturday after suffering a heart attack at his home during treatment for a pressure wound. "The wound had become severely infected...Reeve was admitted to Northern Westchester Hospital on Saturday evening and never regained consciousness," the statement said. .TuG.Wizard Posted October 11, 2004 Author Report Share Posted October 11, 2004 well in some ways alot people dont think about it but my uncle was in a VERY bad accident many years ago and it was life or deaf and if he survived and doctors said he would NEVER walk again and alot of specialist said it but after about a year he was walking on crouches so there is still hope for thousands of people out there with spinal injuries and other seroius injuries but unfortuatly lately he has been in a wheel chair ...... and that foocking asshole who wrote that page beaver is more of a ass hole than any one else and who said he dint no about disabled people infact he did loads of charities acts so that twat dont no what he was on about......why not try and find something nice and not a load of crap what some kid wrote at school........ .TuG.Beaver Posted October 11, 2004 Report Share Posted October 11, 2004 The point of the piece I think the guy was trying to put across, if you read between the swearing, is that before his accident and subsequent paralysis - christopher reeve didnt have anything to do with (charities or otherwise) paralysed people. In someway I can see his point - my mother has Multiple Sclerosis (for over 15 years now) but we (as a family) didnt do anything to help towards the cause of finding a cure for MS, simply because it didnt affect us until she was diagnosed with it.
