.TuG.Bulldog Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 i got a computer AND I WANTED TO BE FIRST TO POST ON THIS SECTION! while im here any got any random tips for stopping my pc from stuttering as if i was lagging on certain levels , it cant be my connection as i have 1meg may be ram problem???

I think it's about time to upgrade to a Geforce 4 Ti4200 128mb, they are now very cheap. Also, more RAM, at least 512MB for windows XP What are the exact specs of your machine anyway?
.TuG.Bulldog Posted May 1, 2003 Author Report Posted May 1, 2003 ok i have a dell 1gig processor, 20 gig hard drive, 512meg ram (i dont think xp handels more than that), geforce 2 (how old!) 64 mx graphics card, so i think i know where the weakst link is "good bye graphics card you are the weakest link!" i have a 1970 atari does that count as a computer????

.TuG.Beaver Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 Yep, Definately goodbye to the Graphics card. The rest of your system looks good - but the MX card is now very pants. I used to have one along time ago, then ugraded to a TNT2, then a GF3 Ti200, now a GF4 Ti4200 AGPx8 128MB. The Ti4200 128MB are very cheap now. Go get one now..... Wow, I used to have an Atari and an Amiga and a Spectrum. Now they are what I'd call proper computers.

.TuG.Beaver Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 Nice avatar, like it. I think the Ti4200 is about 90-130 quid depending on what brand and if you go for 64MB or 128MB. I think PC world even have them in cheap aswell.

Strange...Well now they have 2 main gaming sysyems...AURORA with the ATHLON processor and the AREA 51 with the pentium....both come in 3.2 ...Any thougths Mr. Beaver on what is best? and your thougths on the FX 5900 v the ATI 9800 both come in a 256..... thx Psy
