  1. Havent started on the indoor version yet, but will let you know soon enough.
  2. I'm currently working on a series of maps using the Dam landscape. The 01 version & gametype variants will be for TDM & is inspired by the Bridge map from Americas Army. Basically we have 2 opposing teams that spawn on either side of the Dam and will fight for control. The map is about 80% done & just requires minor adjustments such as optimising the Spawn locations, MiniMap creation & blocking off the tunnels under the mountain, and adding some fog/haze. The 02 version & variants will be based around the tunnel complex next to the Dam and offer CQB fun. Attached below are some thumb screenshots from in-game testing (click links for larger image) Full Size Screenshot 01 Full Size Screenshot 02 Full Size Screenshot 03 Myself, Brok21, Bran & Skeeta have been playing the TDM variant today & I think its owns. Will show some screens of the 02 CQB variant later too.

  18. GR:AW2 IP/Name Logging Guide - Step 3 - Processing the Logged Data Now that we are actually recording data to a log file, there is further processing required to convert the packet data to something human readable & useful. To process the raw data to standard text, we will be using the ngrep tool from a command line prompt. Processing the ngrep.log File Before you can process the log file, you will need to temp. close the 'GRAW2 IP Logged' process as we will need to rename it. If you do not stop the process and rename the ngrep.log file , then the next time you start the process, it will overwrite any existing data collected. With the process stopped, navigate to the c:\graw2iplogs\ folder and open up a command prompt. Rename the ngrep.log file to ngrep1.log (we will increment this to ngrep2.log, ngrep3.log when ever new data is to be processed). Once renamed, you can then immediatly restart the 'GRAW2 IP Logged' process to continue gathering data while we process the already captured data. At the prompt, type: ngrep -t -I ngrep1.log > ngrep1.txt You'll change the filenames to match the increments as required. If you now open up the ngrep1.txt file, you should see plain text listing Date/Time IP's & hopefully player names. Congratulations, you have now successfully logged the IP/Names from your GR:AW2 server!
  19. Fellow tuggers & anyone who frequents these forums. Please go and take part in the dicsussion thread linked below regarding what types of ladders you'd like to see at TWL for the European Teams/Players. TWL - EU Ladders - What would teams/players like to see? Thanks.
  20. A collection of actual quotes from sports commentators & news peeps. Pat Glenn, weightlifting commentator - "And this is Gregoriava from Bulgaria. I saw her snatch this morning and it was amazing!" New Zealand Rugby Commentator - "Andrew Mehrtens loves it when Daryl Gibson comes inside of him." Ted Walsh - Horse Racing Commentator - "This is really a lovely horse. I once rode her mother." Harry Carpenter at the Oxford-Cambridge boat race 1977 - "Ah, isn't that nice. The wife of the Cambridge President is kissing the Cox of the Oxford crew." US PGA Commentator - "One of the reasons Arnie (Arnold Palmer) is playing so well is that, before each tee shot, his wife takes out his balls and kisses them ..... Oh my god!!!!! What have I just said?!!!!" Carenza Lewis about finding food in the Middle Ages on Time Team Live said: "You'd eat beaver if you could get it." A female news anchor who, the day after it was supposed to have Snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked, "So Bob, where's that eight inches you promised me last night?" Not only did HE have to leave the set, but half the crew did too, because they were laughing so hard! Steve Ryder covering the US Masters: "Ballesteros felt much better today after a 69." Clair Frisby talking about a jumbo hot dog on Look North said: "There's nothing like a big hot sausage inside you on a cold night like this." Mike Hallett discussing missed snooker shots on Sky Sports: "Stephen Hendry jumps on Steve Davis's misses every chance he gets." Michael Buerk on watching Phillipa Forrester cuddle up to a male astronomer for warmth during BBC1's UK eclipse coverage remarked: "They seem cold out there, they're rubbing each other and he's just come in his shorts." Ken Brown commentating on golfer Nick Faldo and his caddie Fanny Sunneson lining-up shots at the Scottish Open: "Some weeks Nick likes to use Fanny, other weeks he prefers to do it by himself." I laughed out loud for ages at these.
  21. GR:AW2 IP/Name Logging Guide - Step 2 - Setting up Logging Now that you've installed the tools required from step 1, we will walk through setting up the actually logging processes. When finished we will have 2 processes running, one as a realtime monitor to show who's connecting to the server & the other to do the actual data capture to a log file for later processing. Realtime Monitor Set-up On the desktop of your dedicated server, create a shortcut, called 'GRAW2 IP Real Time'. Then right-click the shortcut and open up the properties for editing. Under Target: c:\graw2iplogs\ngrep.exe -qtpd 30292.2673 dst port 16250 Where = the index number of your network adapter previously discovered in step 1. e.g. Under Start in: c:\graw2iplogs\ It's upto you if you want to set it to run minimised on start or not. Click ok to save the settings. Now you can test that shortcut works by double clicking it. A Command prompt window should open and will remain open and show anyone connecting to your GRAW2 server. IP Logging Set-up Create a 2nd shortcut on the desktop of your dedicated server, called 'GRAW2 IP Logged'. Then right-click the shortcut and open up the properties for editing. Under Target: c:\graw2iplogs\ngrep.exe -q -t -p -d -O c:\graw2iplogs\ngrep.log 30292.2673 dst port 16250 Where = the index number of your network adapter previously discovered in step 1. e.g. Under Start in: c:\graw2iplogs\ Click ok to save the settings. Now you can test that shortcut works by double clicking it. A Command prompt window should open and will remain open and show captured data. The data will also be captured to a file called ngrep.log. The data is in binary format and requires further processing to convert it into readable text format. Goto step 3.
  22. Working on it. Will be posted up later tonight or tomorrow.
  23. GR:AW2 IP/Name Logging Guide - Step 1 - Installing the Tools Once you have downloaded the tools listed in the Tools Required thread, you should upload them to your dedicated server machine, then open a remote desktop session to it. Installing winpcap Double-click the Winpcap installer & follow the on screen instructions, leave everything as default. This should only take about 20 seconds & a reboot is not required. Installing ngrep Locate the ngrep-1.45-win32-bin.zip file and extract the ngrep.exe file to a folder called 'graw2iplogs' in the root of your c:\ drive. Find network card ID number. Open up a command prompt and navigate to your newly created c:\graw2iplogs\ folder containing the ngrep executable. At the prompt, type: ngrep -L To list the available winpcap devices. You should see a list of available devices with an idx number 1' date='2,3,etc. Find the idx number of the servers network card and note it down for later use. For this example, my [b']idx[/b] number is 2. To test that you have identified the correct device index number... At the prompt, type: ngrep -d 2 port 16250 This will listen for all incoming and outgoing packets on port 16250 (GR:AW2 default port) and then start scrolling through as people join/play on your server. Use ctrl-x to return to the cmd prompt. Now that you have established the correct idx number to capture, you can move onto setting up the actually logging mechanism. Goto Step 2.
  24. The tools required to be installed onto the GR:AW2 dedicated server are: 1. WinPcap - The Windows Packet Capture Library WinPcap is the industry-standard tool for link-layer network access in Windows environments: it allows applications to capture and transmit network packets bypassing the protocol stack, and has additional useful features, including kernel-level packet filtering, a network statistics engine and support for remote packet capture. WinPcap consists of a driver, that extends the operating system to provide low-level network access, and a library that is used to easily access the low-level network layers. This library also contains the Windows version of the well known libpcap Unix API. The latest stable version of winpcap (v4.0.1) can be downloaded here: http://www.winpcap.org/install/default.htm Note: Winpcap requires to be installed on the server, so you will need full remote access to perform this function. 2. ngrep - Network grep ngrep strives to provide most of GNU grep's common features, applying them to the network layer. ngrep is a pcap-aware tool that will allow you to specify extended regular or hexadecimal expressions to match against data payloads of packets. It currently recognizes IPv4/6, TCP, UDP, ICMPv4/6, IGMP and Raw across Ethernet, PPP, SLIP, FDDI, Token Ring and null interfaces, and understands BPF filter logic in the same fashion as more common packet sniffing tools, such as tcpdump and snoop. The latest stable version of winpcap (v1.4.5) can be downloaded here: http://ngrep.sourceforge.net/download.html
  25. The purpose of this forum is for discussion about setting up IP to Player Name logging on your GR:AW2 dedicated servers in the absence of any built in log tools within the supplied binaries. Hopefully in the near future (next patch), the guys @ GRIN will add some logging options in the server files and this method will not be required. Listed will be the programs required to be installed on your dedicated servers along with set-up details & how to record the IP/Name information and how to process the recorded data into human readable format for further processing into a database or spreadsheet.
