.TuG.Beaver
Just as expected from a bunch of fucktards like UBISOFT, they have delayed GR:AW until FEB2006. Why you might ask? Apparantly is so they can polish a few things, but the real reason becomes evident when reading the recent press releases about the xbox360 version. Basically, they want to cash in on xbox360 as consoles are where the money is at. If they wait until the xbox360 version is complete and shipping, they will make more money. Regardless of the fact that the xbox360 & PC versions are completely different beasts - we still get shafted. More info: London, UK? OCTOBER 7, 2005 ? Today Ubisoft, one of the world?s largest video game publishers, is pleased to announce that it has decided to devote additional time to perfect the next installment in its award-winning squad-based military shooter, Tom Clancy?s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter?. The game will launch worldwide for the Xbox 360? video game and entertainment system from Microsoft in February 2006. The additional time devoted to the development of this title will allow Ubisoft to offer gamers the best episode ever of the award-winning Tom Clancy?s Ghost Recon franchise and will enable the game?s development teams to optimize the application of Xbox 360? technology. The delay of the release date will not impact Ubisoft?s revenue forecasts for the fiscal year. At the X05 event in Amsterdam earlier this week, Ubisoft astounded attendees with playable single- and multi-player demonstrations of the thrilling new title. Tom Clancy?s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter? was extremely well received by event participants, and Ubisoft expects the game to quickly become a blockbuster title. ?In Tom Clancy?s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter?, players will be able to truly immerse themselves as soldiers of the future,? said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft North America. ?This game will continue the tradition of setting the bar for intense multiplayer action and cutting-edge technology. X05 attendees experienced the stunning results of the work Ubisoft?s award-winning studios have done in perfecting innovative multiplayer content and taking advantage of next-generation capabilities.? About Tom Clancy?s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter?: The face of war has changed. Enemy lines blur and there is no longer a clear opponent. New enemies and new threats require a new type of warfare - a new type of soldier. Enter the Ghosts. In 2013, the U.S. Army will implement the Integrated Warfighter System (IWS) evolving what we know as the modern soldier. IWS combines advanced weapon systems, satellite communication devices and enhanced survivability into one fully integrated combat system. The IWS program has been developed to meet these new threats head on. Now, it can be tested on the battlefield. Following an insurgence in the heart of Mexico City, the U.S. Army?s most elite Special Forces team is deployed to the center of the conflict to regain control of the city. Greatly outnumbered but fully equipped with the IWS, this elite team is the first and last line of defense on the battlefield. They are the ?quiet? professionals. They are the Ghosts. And YES, this is ALL versions that are delayed! Discussion thread over on the UBI forums here Discussion thread over on GR.net forums here Personally, I'm done with GR forever now - Quake4 - FEAR - CSS - COD2 - ET:QW - BF2 - will all be getting my attention. SAF_Kaiser
Well they lost the possibility of getting any of my money for their game. Besides compare the graphics of GR3 to BF2 and there just is no comparison! That 3rd person view in GR3 sucks to high heaven, especially with that oversized gun they have showing. Not sure what game I'll be playing but the only thing that would get me playing GR3 would be if the entire SAF clan decided that was the game for us. Other than that, how the heck are you guys? SAF_Kaiser
lol, I've looked high and low for my old GR discs and they're no where to be found. I either lent them out or lost them. I had thought about reinstalling it but after playing BF2 the graphics would just disappoint me. the only downside to BF2 that I've noticed is the lack of any real strategy. It goes too fast and is too fluid for it with the current game mode thats out. Now play BF2 with the GR rules and I think you would have something there! Also, any map size that allows too much aircraft is a total waste of time to play. I think thats why I stay with karkand 32 player.
