Hey all, There have done a few updates to Battlelog, Server & there is also a client-side patch available when Origin is started I believe. Details below:
-
Update: Well after trying for a couple of days to play without TS3 running to see if things were improved, I can conclude that its NOT TS3 causing my issues, as I am still getting lockups & the white screen of death! But reading the forums, its a global thing and most likely a patch is required for the client side. Also I tried the new BETA nvidia drivers released yesterday. But really couldnt say one way or the other if they are better or not. Although I didnt see any of the GREEN flickering this time! Maybe just lucky....

There are some new BETA drivers released from nvidia today along with some recent updates to the amd radeon drivers. Details below; Here are the latest graphics drivers for Battlefield 3 supported by AMD and GeForce. Yeah thats a crappy thing to have to keep doing. I get the white screen only occasionally. Its mostly lockups in the BF3 process... seems to be when it hits just over 950mb of memory usage for the process. At least thats what the mem usage is in the Task Manager when I goto kill the bf3.exe process. We're definately not the only ones getting it as there are tons of users on the forums in the same boat. Hopefully an upcoming client side patch & newer drivers from AMD & NVIDIA will fix it.

ok cool - I get the green flashes too.

Hi Guys, I thought I'd do a little experiment last night and only load up BF3 while playing instead of getting on TS3 1st and chatting to everyone (sorry), just to see if BF3 behaved any better than it has been doing for me. Basically, in the past few weeks since launch I can play for about 20mins or so, then seem to get some sort of lockup/crash in the BF3.exe - which sounds like a sound bug as it always ends up doing a repeat on whatever sound it just loaded. Last night (sunday) was pretty damn good and I managed to play for an hour or so before there was any problems with the game crashing - and this time it was the "white screen of death" that alot of other people are getting, which is down to the Nvidia drivers and a fix should be coming soon. Can any others confirm/try playing without TS3 loaded who are having the same issues and see if it cures the problem to an extent? Cheers.

Just a reminder to those who might not be aware, you can add the TuG tags to your solider profile so they appear in-game in the player lists as [TuG]soldier_name. They are simple to add. Just goto your player profile page on Battlelog, click "Edit Profile", then at the top, just under "Soldier Settings" you can add in TuG into the box just after the pic of your soldier & before your soldier name.

Was really good to see all the TuG's back online again and on TS this weekend for some good games. Felt alot like the old days - playing for fun! Really loving the game and it has me hooked on ranking up. Just wish they could fix alot of the connection & lockup issues that people are having. (especially me. lol!)

Was great fun to have a bunch of us on TS last night like the old days and enjoying a couple of hours shooting people in the virtual world!

My 1st impressions... It rocks. Totally different experience from the BETA, as everything seems to be working just great at the moment. I joined a server that was running Caspian Border, that I couldn't play in the BETA, but the retail is totally smooth gameplay from running around to driving jeeps & playing with tanks. Felt just like old BF fun! I have set my graphics setting to Medium & am only running on 1680x1050 resolution (my monitor default) along with a 2.66GHz core2duo & 4GB ram on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - also running the lastest Nvidia driver released this week. Will be on again this evening for a proper play test over a couple of hours. See you on TS.
-
Hi All, Would be nice for us all to post some feedback/thoughts, etc on the Retail release of the game once we have it & have played a little. Thanks.
-
Hey all, Dont forget to come join our TS3 server once you have the game today/tomorrow for mucho fun! Details:

Yep, my copy of the BF3 Physical Warfare Pack.... woot! Wondered if I might get it today as I got an email from GAME last night saying it had shipped. Getting it all installed now, but wont be on until lunchtime I think as I have to work at 9!! lol

ok guys - so the BF3 Beta has ended today & I was wondering what the feedback from everyone is? I take it this is a game that we're all going to be playing when its released later this month and are we going to rent a server for it or just play on other peoples? Feedback on the gameplay & systems requirements would be good too. My system feedback: CPU - Core2Duo @ 2.66GHz with 2GB ram - GeForce 460GTX 1GB on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Metro map - played just fine with everything on Medium settings, but I did get alot of stuttering initially on the map as all the sounds got loaded, then everything was very smooth and totally playable - I think I'll stick in another 2GB as BF3 was using about 1.3GB mem alot of the time. Caspian Border map - played very laggy all the way through for the 10mins I manged to stand the judders. Looks like I'll need to get a new motherboard+cpu+ram to make this a bit more playable on the bigger maps with 64 players. Will see how it goes with adding the extra 2GB 1st.
-
They have now shut down all the Caspian Border servers as their testing of this map is over - jsut back to plain old Metro for the next 10 days!

I had a quick blast too and got some kills & it was laggy also - havent been and changed any of my game settings yet though! But I know my old core2duo 2.66ghz with 2gb ram is not upto much these days, even with a gtx460 ultra.

One of the cool options on the Battleblog is to be able to create a Platoon - which I have done and its called: The Unkown Ghosts Platoon Page - http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/platoon/2826550451850124141/listmembers/True/ I'll start inviting everyone to join the Platoon once you post your Soldier Names.

Ok guys, for those of you who ordered and played on MoH:Tier 1 Edition, the BETA is supposed to be available today for download via the new EA Origin systems. You need to download EA Origin from: here - and login with your EA/Origin Account and the game will then be available to download in the "Free Games" tab at some point. As of 8:30am GMT, the game isnt yet showing! My ORIGIN/EA ID is "TuG_Beaver" if you want to find me and add me as a friend! Also, there are some new NVIDIA beta & RADEON preview drivers out today that give improvements for BF3. I use NVIDIA so the drivers are available: here Below are the important bits from the FAQ on the BF3 BETA site. 1. What are the dates for the BETA?
