i30 LAN - April 6th - 9th 2007 - Sign-ups open.
.TuG.Skeeta replied to .TuG.Beaver's topic in Open Forum
Just got an email from multiplay: Dear Multiplay Gamer, The waiting is over and the sleeping giant is awakening - i30 prepares to launch. So many of you have been waiting for the event to go live and to pay for your place that we're giving everyone plenty of notice about when we're launching i30. At 13:00 GMT Monday 12th Feb 2007 be ready with your card details and a trigger happy mouse finger as this is when all systems are go and your first opportunity to confirm your place. 500+ Paid - And We Haven't Event Opened Yet! Yet again the i-Series sets in place a milestone as we have 500 paid participants all ready to go even before we open signups! This is due to our one-off early bird discount of a massive 20% - causing the payments to come flooding in. Never before have we opened an event with 500 places already gone and so we honestly don't know what to expect once we launch the event next Monday. We strongly urge you to pay for your place as soon as possible as we are expecting i30 to be a sell-out event. On Monday you can expect detailed information about our i30 tournaments, partners and exhibitors - all of which we've managed to keep under wraps so far! Be sure to check the i30 Website next Monday 12th Feb at 13:00 GMT for the launch and be among the first to know what's going on at the UK's largest ever LAN party. -

Dont panic! I just phoned them up and they said the tickets should go on sale sometime next week. The front page says Feb 07, which I took to mean the 7th of Feb but actually means Feb 2007. Keep checking back or give them a call but there not yet on sale. -

Overall looks good to me. I would try to get a faster CPU (4400 or the 4600) and possibly a Nvidia card as they will run Vegas and GRAW better than an ATi card - both those games have been optimised for Nvidia. I would think twice about the monitor as well, 8ms refresh time is getting a little high, I would aim for something at about 4ms which shouldnt cost you much more. And lastly your power supply. The motherboard power may be different (I was going to do the same as you when I went to PCIe and had to buy a new power supply because of this) so check! It could be fine but may not be. Cheers, Skeet. -
Im up for that

Welcome! Looking 4ward to seeing you in game!

I done it all through lastminute.com at the last minute (sorry for the pun), you can proberley do it cheaper if you book it yourself tho (1p flights and all that).
-
BTW, I think Prague is proberley better for sight seeing and those romantic evenings together! That said I prefered Amsterdam because of the people, should give Prague a look tho.

Alright JJ, I stayed here about 8 months ago and would really recommend it: http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/cp/1/en/hotel/amsnl;jsessionid=QNWBRF2UXB0QOCTGWAJSHPQKM0YBIIY4?_requestid=342588 Also they have a priority club you can sign up for so you get a load of goodies once your out there. Its also very close to Amsterdam Central train station (3 minute walk) so no need to get taxis - basicly you slap bang in the middle of Amsterdam. Your also 2 minutes from where the torist boats leave to go on the tours so you can visit all the sites nice and easy. Once thing you will notice is the size of the rooms - there all of a smaller that usuall size but that goes for Dam as a whole. If you need some ideas as to resturants / pubs (good traditional dutch ones, they really are the most hospitable of all the European countires) give me a shout and ill put some down for you. Cheers!
