  1. Last up in our BF4 Class Weeks is none other than the legendary Assault class, which has seen quite a few changes over the years. Read on for its complete history! Battlefield 1942One of five kits available to Battlefield 1942 players, the Assault was the go-to class when engaging enemy infantry. Back then, it was all about wielding the firepower of automatic rifles and light machine guns, staying close to the action in the fight between Axis and Allies. 12 years ago, the Assault didn’t have any fancy equipment or healing duties – other classes took care of that. Battlefield 2In the modern
  2. Hit the streets of Battlefield Hardline™ March 17, 2015 on PlayStation®4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360® and PC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOABuPJtGmg In a crime drama filled single player story, Miami is embroiled in a drug war and officer Nick Mendoza has just made detective. Alongside his partner, veteran detective Khai Minh Dao, he follows the drug supply chain from the streets to the source. In a series of increasingly off-the-books cases the two detectives come to realize that power and corruption can affect both sides of the law. In multiplayer, the world is simple. You’re o
  3. The Assault class design in its Russian, American, and Chinese variants. Taking Care of Business and BruisesEven though every Battlefield class brings something unique to your squad’s efforts, the Assault class is truly a personification of team play. Think of all the times you’ve been boiling of anger after a sudden death – and then regaining your fighting spirit thanks to a timely revive. Or those narrow escapes into cover with 3% health left when you notice a Medic Bag on the ground. An Assault doing its job can’t be overvalued. Playing as Assault is not just tending to field medic duties,

  5. Sometimes they’re unbelievable, sometimes just hilarious. Quite often they’re both. They can be that awkward moment realizing you’re on single fire mode, or when your squad buddy saves your derriere in the nick of time. We call them Battlefeels. You’ve been constantly adding to the worldwide library of these feels by your incredible videos and screenshots and below you’ll find a handful – there are of course many more out there. So sit back with your favorite beverage and enjoy these prime Battlefeels! “Pod Zook” – ponylionHD Many have tried, few have conquered. Pulling off a true Rendezook
  6. This week is all about the LMG-wielding heroes that resupply us with ammo. As part of our third BF4 Class Week we look at how the Support class in Battlefield has evolved through the years. Battlefield 2The Support class joined the all-out war party when Battlefield 2 came along in 2005. Alongside the game’s 6 other classes, the basic duties of the Support were similar to what they are now: provide suppressive fire and resupply teammates using Ammo Boxes. The Light Machine Gun was the signature weapon for the class and those who wielded it had to master both bullet spread and cooldown
  7. With Battlefield 4 Final Stand right around the corner, we’ve prepped some intel on what to expect when the expansion hits. Read on for map info, Community Test Environment info and more… Ice and snow dominates the Battlefield this time around. Watch out for the harsh blizzards of Operation Whiteout. This is Your New BattlefieldMake sure to pack your thermal underwear when you throw yourself in the all-new, wintry maps of Final Stand. You’ll fight through both enemy fire and the Siberian cold in Operation Whiteout, and explore a submarine base when you hit the mountainous Hammerhead. Milit
  8. The Backbone of the BattlefieldEvery Battlefield 4 class is a unique piece of a puzzle, fitting together and complementing each other as part of a team. While the Support class can be played however you choose, its job is simple: support the rest of the team. See, ammo doesn’t grow on trees. And control points and M-Com stations don’t defend themselves. With the signature Ammo Box and Ammo Pack, the Support makes life easier for Engineers in need of RPG ammo, or Recons who just ran out of rounds. After all, who wouldn’t want to give your Recon friend more C4 to blow stuff up? When the Support

  10. The celebration of the Recon class in our second BF4 Class Week continues with a sneaky stroll down memory lane. Learn more about how the Recon has changed in appearance, name and weaponry over the years… Battlefield 1942This is where it all started. Back when the Battlefield franchise was brand new, the origin of what we now call Recon was born. Binoculars and rifle in hand, the Scout class of Battlefield 1942 engaged enemies at long ranges and helped out the team by designating targets for allied artillery. Battlefield 2 As with the other classes, the Sniper saw many changes as

  12. Picking off enemies from afar and infiltrating enemy lines, the Recon is the sneaky, versatile hero of the Battlefield. In a new BF4 Class Week, veteran Battlefield developer Thomas Andersson gives you his thoughts on the class, and announces a Recon-based Community Mission! A Versatile ClassThe first thing that springs to mind hearing the word “Recon” is usually the lone wolf with nerves of steel, sniping at enemies from great distances. Although that is of course one key factor, the Recon class is one of the most versatile in Battlefield 4. From Battlefield 2 and onward, the class has ba

Hotwire: drive stolen cars fast Whether you’re the Cops or the Criminals, the goal is to get to the marked cars and drive fast! Driving a marked car causes you to begin to bleed the enemy team’s tickets – so make sure you hang onto the ride and continue to drive. 9. 17. We’re kicking off something we’re calling BF4 Class Week. Over the next several weeks we’ll be highlighting each of the four classes in Battlefield 4 including Pro Tips straight from the team at DICE, Community Missions and more. The first Class Week is all about RPG’s and Repair Tools as we celebrate the iconic Engineer. The Chinese Engineer from Battlefield 4 wearing the characteristic gas mask. Capable of both immense vehicle destruction and invaluable repair work, there is one cog that really holds the Battlefield 4 squad machinery to place: the Engineer. The Engineer has been prese
  18. About eighteen months ago, Battlefield Hardline creative director Ian Milham and I exchanged a series of emails. The ostensible reason for our communication was my review of Dead Space 3, which I had greatly enjoyed, for Grantland. So what, I asked, was Mr. Milham working on these days? “Funny you should ask,” he said. “What’s your schedule like?” Having just rolled off a game, I didn’t know whether I wanted to jump into yet another AAA cyclone, but the chance of working with Visceral wasn’t an opportunity I was going to let pass by. A few days later, my co-writer Rob Auten and I were sitting
  19. We are ready to start talking about Battlefield 4 Final Stand, and we have a lot to talk about. In the Battlefield 4 Premium video we released a few months ago, we gave players their first glimpse at the high-tech action that awaits. In the weeks ahead we’ll also show you a lot more of that monstrous little drone and the other exciting new toys that will be in Final Stand. WATCH THE GAMEPLAY TRAILER BELOW. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqDy6D9DZz8 With Final Stand, we knew from the start that we wanted to evolve the Battlefield experience and offer weapons and vehicles that behave different
  20. Cheaters are a big problem in today’s games and especially in first person shooters. It’s my job to fight them in Battlefield as best we can and I’ve noticed frustration coming from the players regarding what’s being done in this matter. I’d like to share some of the work we do on the anti-cheat team. FairFight If you don’t already know, we introduced a new anti-cheat software called FairFight for PC that monitors each players’ gameplay and flags the player when they do something suspicious or something that no legit player can do. Creating a new rule takes time. We need to make sure that th
  21. Over the years, the Battlefield™ series soundtracks have made their mark and have emblazoned their melodies in our ears. Battlefield 4™ is no exception. We are honored to partner with Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman X Steve Angello to bring fans of the artists a unique opportunity to get their Battlefield related videos featured in an official trailer. The icing on the top – the trio is providing their latest hit song “Payback” as the soundtrack (click here to listen). The song title is all too fitting as we all have those formidable foes we seek to exact revenge upon on the Battlefield. How
  22. That’s right. It’s time. Let’s talk…COMPETITIVE PLAY! We’re pretty excited to show off a mode you guys have been asking about – our hostage-rescue mode, titled, appropriately enough, Rescue. In Rescue, SWAT has three minutes to force entry into the criminals’ barricaded hostage locations and rescue the hostages. There are no respawns in this mode, so if you’re dead – you’re out of the round. The mode is played round-after-round for a series of rounds, with the team winning the most times being the overall match winner. We’ve put in some cool touches to make it deeper – for you to explore
