lol, thanks Wizzy - I have time to play, but just been real busy these past 2 weeks, also GF has just taken ill with possible swine flu, so I am not seeing her for a few days until she's done her Tamiflu pils as a precaution - have just installed Win7 on my rig at home last night, so will get on OpFlash tonight I hope - just need to drive over and get the DVD from my laptop. Doh!!

I too am still enjoying the game. I really really really want to make some missions/maps/etc for it and do hope that they have some good stuff in the patch. If they saw all the fuss about MW2 not having dedicated servers, they could steal a ton of players over the OpFlash if they released server files I bet.

You can turn off all the aero stuff if you want - although as you have a nice gfx card - it wont really matter - will run totally fine I would think.

Have been playing with the laptop all day today and it seems to be working just fine - totally faster than Vista Ultimate doing everything!!

Hey Mr Biffa, you might be a bit right about that, but its getting the benefit of the doubt for now. The engine itself is great, as was the FC2 engine and I just hope that CM realise that they could catch alot of modders into this game if they released dedicated server files, especially after all the poo that Infinity Ward has been spouting about MW2 and NO SERVERS... The mission editor seems pretty good to use and seems to have alot of scope for making some good stuff, but obviously without a dedicated server/home to call our own, its very difficult to get that content out there for everyone to come and play with us. OpDR uses the same middleware from Quazal that FC2 used as far as I know, and there was the ability to proper dedicated servers with that out of the box and they even released fixes/patches with added dedicated server functionality, so its not without the realms of fantasy that CM could do the same and give us DEDICATED SERVER options - it does say on the box afterall that Dedicated Host with 3mbs for 32 players is recommended!! For me, the game is fun, it has GREAT potential, lets hope the patches add further functionality to the Editor and the game. Imagine making the old Firefight missions or doing all the old stuff from original GR in this nice new engine??

Have now intalled Win7 on the laptop and getting everything working... Most important thing is done - graphics/sound drivers and OpFlash DR is installed and working fine!! Yay.

Well today is the official release day of windows 7 to the public, I however, had my 2 copies of Win7 Home Premium delivered on Monday 19th - which is great as they kept sending me emails that it wouldnt be shipped until release day and I wouldnt get it for 5-7 days!! Nice job PC World pre-orders... Havent managed to install it yet on any of my PC's, but will be sticking it on the laptop 1st this weekend and then getting OpFlash - DR back onto it.

Cool stuff, I am still enjoying it too, just havent had the time to sit and actually play it either - too much going on this week with GF's daughter being home from uni, lol. I desperately want to make some FTE's to play in co-op! I now have windows 7 for both my PC's which arrived on monday, even though its not officially launched until tomorrow and I was told that my pre-order wouldnt be dispatched until after 22nd...

Trying to spin this into something good, but it still means, no more consideration for clans, which is what made the CoD series so popular and as for the assumption that VAC as an anti-cheat means no more hacks, is total shit - its worse than PB and we have zero control over it!! Below is a copy of what Rob 'FourZeroTwo' posted on his blog yesterday, its totally laughable and shows just how much of a cunt he really is!! As sheriff says, I'll just wait and see how it all unfolds on release and if theres a day 1 patch or not - we could probably end up picking this up in the cheap bins before xmas for PC!!

Well, if those 50,000+ dont buy it on PC, with an average say of £34.99 per copy, thats 1.75million down the toilet right there - which is a pretty large number maybe.... Lets hope that all those companies like GAME, play etc are going mad right about now at IW/activision because everyone is cancelling their pre-order....

One of the DICE developers already posted on twitter in a dig/repsonse to this - said something along the lines of "Dedicated servers FTW", indicating that they wouldnt be screwing over the PC community when BF3, etc come along!!

Its true unfortunately, who know's what they are thinking - BF3 or Battlefield Bad Company 2 might be the next big thing on PC then!!

Update: I have cancelled my pre-order, no point in buying this heap of shite when i wont be able to run a dedicated server on our box in london!!

Found the following on cadred.org gaming site. It does not make good reading from a PC gamers persective... Seems like they are going with the stupid and totally useless p2p type of matchmaking that's used on the consoled and has been shown not to Fucking work at all on the PC.... If this all turns out to be true, then MW2 is not going to be the hit game that CoD4 was on the PC, and I love how all this info is only just coming out with less than a month until it arrives. oh dear - how do they expect anyone to play this game and make missions etc if there's no way to run a dedicated server!! People just dont have the ability to host a 32 slot server on home connections, unless you live in sweden and have 100mb.... wankers I say!
