Hi All, Just wanted to highlight that any names picked in the PC Beta will be usable in the full game when it arrives, so I guess we should all get on the same page regarding what usernames we use. As yet nothing is known about how the account system works or if the in-game name is exactly whats used for your EA account, etc. I';m guessing it will be like BF2 in that your player name=your account name. If this is the case - I've found in the past that a few of these sites dont like you to use the "." and we may be limited to using "_". With that in mind, can we all do the following: 1st try: .TuG.Playername if that cant be used, then try: TuG_Playername at least then we will all be the same and findable. Cheers.

Amazing Single Player Footage And Loads More
.TuG.Beaver replied to .TuG.Bulldog's topic in Battlefield:Bad Company 2
Cool - should get emails from Play.com tomorrow - will have a good read through of the Terms before I activate it, just incase we are locked in to purchase - but I'm not too worried - just means I pay 26 instead of 17 from GAME and dont get to use my game points. -
Amazing Single Player Footage And Loads More

Yeah that looks pretty damn good - the footage is from ps3 or xbox360 though as the "x reload" kept popping up on a few occasions, but it should look just as awesome on the PC. -
Original Press Release: December 2, 2009. EA GOES TO WAR WITH ALL-New ‘Medal of Honor’ EA Reinvents Franchise with New Development Teams, New Soldier, New Setting LOS ANGELES, California – December 2, 2009 – Medal of Honor™ returns to the front lines, this time in today’s war. For the first time in the franchise’s 10-year history, Medal of Honor is leaving the WWII theatre and putting players in war-torn Afghanistan. Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) today revealed that in 2010, Medal of Honor, an all-new first-person shooter game, will introduce the Tier 1 Operator: a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle. The development team has been working closely with Tier 1 Operators from the U.S. Special Operations Community since the earliest stages of development to create the most authentic modern war experience. Medal of Honor depicts modern military operations through the lens of a small band of fictional characters. Inspired by real events, Medal of Honor reveals the mission of today’s most elite American soldier – his will, his mindset and his uncompromising professionalism. Medal of Honor is being built with a best-in-class single-player campaign. The Medal of Honor development team at EALA has been hand-selected by the studio leadership of General Manager Sean Decker, Executive Producer Greg Goodrich and Senior Creative Director Rich Farrelly. To compliment the single-player experience, EALA has enlisted the multiplayer expertise at EA DICE. This team will develop the multiplayer experience of Medal of Honor. These two studios are coming together to deliver a world-class Medal of Honor that is poised to re-set the franchise for a new generation. “When we first set out to reinvent Medal of Honor, we wanted to stay true to its roots of authenticity and respect for the soldier but bring it into today’s war. The Tier 1 Operator is the most disciplined, deliberate and prepared warrior on the battlefield. He is a living, breathing, precision instrument of war.” said Greg Goodrich, Executive Producer, Medal of Honor. “We are honored to have the rare opportunity to work closely with these men to create a game that shares their experience.” “EA has always been an advocate for telling the soldiers’ story. The new Medal of Honor follows that tradition. We felt it was important to tell the story of today’s war and today’s elite soldiers via today’s most relevant medium – videogames,” said Sean Decker, VP and General Manager of EALA. “We are so proud to bring together two powerhouse development teams to make this game a reality; EA Los Angeles and EA DICE. Medal of Honor promises to be an unforgettable entry in the modern shooter genre.” Follow us on twitter at: http://www.twitter.com/medalofhonor. Official Website: Medal of Honor About the Game: Operating directly under the National Command Authority, a relatively unknown entity of handpicked warriors are called on when the mission must not fail. They are the Tier 1 Operators. Over 2 million Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines wear the uniform. Of those, approximately 50 thousand fall under the direct control of the Special Operations Command. The Tier 1 Operator functions on a plane of existence above and beyond even the most highly trained Special Operations Forces. Their exact numbers, while classified, hover in the low hundreds. They are living, breathing, precision instruments of war. They are experts in the application of violence. The new Medal of Honor is inspired by and has been developed with Tier 1 Operators from this elite community. Players will step into the boots of these warriors and apply their unique skill sets to a new enemy in the most unforgiving and hostile battlefield conditions of present day Afghanistan. There is a new enemy. There is a new war. There is a new warrior. He is Tier 1.

Nice - one thing I did hear though as a rumour on Bashandslash.com podcast is that if you activate the Beta from a pre-order, then you may be locked into the purchase and cant cancel it. Best to check any small print I think in the emails that come from Play.com

I just pre-ordered from Play.com - and will cancel it after I get my beta code email and activate it all.... Checked my GAME account preorder today, but no mention of Beta access from them yet.

Hi Bay, Welcome to the forums - so who's washing machine was it??
-
lmao - Dave looks cold there!!
-
Thats nothing to do with the beta dude - thats the DEMO which is coming after the beta. We will still be having a beta on the PC as they have advertised. Its just how we get access to that beta is the question!!
-
Its very similar to what they did with BF2, but they have gone one step further. There will be dedicated server files but only for special partners to rent out 'Ranked' servers. It appears they have removed the option to have "un-ranked" private servers for now. Alternatively - they could just be talking about the beta not having any server files available. They have already stated previously that the game would have dedicated files though!! I think it'll all be fine - we'd have to rent a "Ranked" server anyway and probably have the option to make it private for matches if we get that far!! I is not worried yet....
-
ah poop - I was surprised to see it still up a couple of days ago when it was supposed to close on the 21st Dec. Was hoping they would leave it running a little longer into the new year so I could shoot some people in the head on New Years!! Roll on the PC Beta...

Thanks for posting LORD, but we dont play ARMA anymore - games sucks ass in our opinion.

Updating a Comp
.TuG.Beaver replied to .TuG.Bran's topic in Computers / Consoles / Mobile Phones / Gadgets
If all they are using it for is to do internet/music etc. then the spec of that PC is just fine. I'd go onto the crucial memory website and see what the max ram is you can put in the machine and upgrade it to at least 2-4gb and put a 500gb-1tb hd on it for storing stuff and get an external usb 1tb drive for backups - get windows 7 home premium too. You'll save a ton of cash over buying a new pc - alternatively you could just pay 200-300 bucks and get a new dell tower for them. -
I like ALL those features listed for servers & clans... We'll definately be getting a RANKED 32 slot server!!
-
Happy B'day - and its sherriffs m8. I edited the thread title!!

According to the guys over at CVG, there is a FC3 in development, but no idea what platforms its for. As the interview was in a Playstation magazine, its probably safe to say it'll be on consoles, and probably ported to PC too. At least this time they should have proper dedicated servers out of the box if they learnt anything from FC2's release!! Original story: here
