I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say it might be your system overheating if its random. GR:AW tends to use 100% cpu usage when running & will put a strain on the CPU & your GFX card temperature wise, if there's not enough cooling or power from your PSU, then it could be the system getting too hot & causing the seemingly random crashes. Might be worth sticking a monitoring prog like MBM and logging things like temp on CPU & GFX card when idle & then when running GR:AW. Alternatively, I could be wrong & you might have little gremlins running around inside your PC.

.TuG.Beaver
I have reinstalled windows, have put COD back on running ok Rainbow 6 running ok have downloaded patch 1.35 from differnt mirrors still gives me a bundle error, only thing left is is it my game disc, flat out of ideas. But why cant I get the patch on?? A couple of thoughts. 1. Where do you install GR:AW to on your system? Default install path or on some other partition of your harddrive? 2. Once GR:AW is installed, are you then just installing the v1.35 patch? v1.35 is a cumulative patch. i.e it contains all the content from previous patches & should be able to install directly onto a vanilla install of GR:AW. Make sure you select "CD/DVD Version" in the installer as the Downloaded version is slightly different. 3. Have you any software installed blocking registry entries or blocking the installer? If you run regedt32, you should do a search for ghost recon & be able to find registry entires pointing the installed location of the game & current version. 4. The most important of all - do you have enough disk space available on your HD in the windows/temp folder. The patch requires about a gig of temp disk space to uncompress & do its install thing. If you dont have enough free space, then it may bork! Failing the above, I'd be happy to remote access your PC via VNC or remote desktop & take a look if you want? Chambo
Cheers beaver, I have succeeded in getting the patch on reinstalled again downloaded or seven patches from xfire and reinstalled one at a time, when i ran 1.35 patch i kept getting a message invalid path so i had 3 choices ignore retry or cancel sat there and retryed about 15 times then the patch went on. totally baffled but success anyway. Cheers for your posts.
