.TuG.Beaver Posted November 18, 2004 Author Report Posted November 18, 2004 CS:Source is basically the same old CS - but using the brand new 'source' engine from HalfLife2. Has pretty graphics/effects & full physics plus some other cool stuff. Other old Valve games are ported to the source engine too - HL1 - Day Of Defeat - Team Fortress to name a few.
.AK Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 yea! at last some1 else is into CS at the same time as me I should be downloading HL2 from steam next week (download time 15hrs), so I should be up and running for next weekend... ordered some more memory as well to get it running smooth.. can't wait..

.AK Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 I got HL2 for crimbo too... been on a few servers and kept my eye on the tug server but no1 has been on as yet while I was on... top game thou just like the old but with cooler graphics and stuff, hopefully peeps will be working on importing the custom maps from the old CS.. zifex.org have some really cool maps, but I don' t think there on CS-S yet.. Hope too see you guys on line soon!
Tantalus Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 The server was near to full yesterday evening, as was the HL2:DM server.. but we need more maps and map rotation for HL2:DM - people were getting bored with the same map and leaving... We really could do with some sort of a server configuration utility for the use of the Server Admins via the RAdmin console. I have tried a server.cfg file (you can find this in the TUG directory beaver) on the HL2:DM server when it was empty but it had no effect on map rotation, timing, frag limits etc. Currently the server is open to hackers/slashers/banned IP's and has no specified 'limits' or 'rotation'. We especially need one or two 'spectator' slots for clan/admin! The sooner we can configure this baby the better it will be... IMO

Sorry the servers havent been running this last week - some bugger has been using an exploit to crash the GR server, so I turned of CS:S just ot make sure it wasnt something else causing it. I can either be found on our server or on 'server.irish-army.net'' playing with the IOA & DOD guys. I'll ensure ours is back and running today.
