I?ve just been playing Rainbow six Vegas (Don?t ask where I got it); I couldn?t wait to test it before I bought it on Friday. I have to say I am very disappointed, the general graphics are very good, but the unreal engine makes it feel too arcade. It?s so easy to take cover then shoot/grenade the enemy I just feel it lakes that realism edge of GRAW. I was hoping for a very realistic close-quarter battle but it just felt like a cheap unreal mod. It does seem fun, with its grappling and fast executing features. I?ve only spent an hour on it and Im bored of it already. So I don?t think I?ll uninstall GRAW just yet.

 

I think they put all their efforts into the 360 version.:angry:

Well JJ lives in a very isolated city or town. I think it’s in the north some where:blink: (pie eating country) He doesn’t travel much and generalises me & skeeta as being the same person. Were both from London and have similar accents, but because of his inbreeding and lack of diversity his brain hasn’t developed the ability to differentiate between us and because of his age, it is very unlikely that it ever will :P

Got the game today what a bag of shite, i get a headache from the visuals no reality at all you have to,,,,,,, errrrrrrrrrrrrr, its shite when you get hit the screen changes when i was shot the sky didnt change (havent been shot really). i knew it wouldnt be anygood dont know why i listern to you lot im off to bed now with a migraine thanx a lot. whats with all the kits and clothes and ect ect i just want to play the damn thing not dress to impress. shooting is hard no one shot kills,its just not graw, poor i thinks. ah well anyone for a game lol. when trying to play multiplayer it crashes to desktop what im supposed to check the forums for fixes, are you f'''''''' mad or what. i should be a game critic then shite like this would not get out unless i was paid on the side.

Did you put the 1.01 patch on yet?

Snap. The single player is cool but the multiplayer sucks (and the head aches aint cool either).

you cant go to a "quick match" it has too many options hence the crash. go to custom and search for dedi or non dedi but not both then it should work. there is a fix somewhere for the blur effect and i dont mean oasis. I think it is mentioned on the ubi forums, if you close one eye and look at the screen in a mirror over your left shoulder it is fine

Oh me good God!! R.I.P the Rainbow 6 franchise. This is the biggest pile of crap ever to insult my PC. The original Rainbow 6 is miles better. Even bloody Lockdown is better than this!!!!. Poo controls, visuals that look like vomit, too dark, crap mouse tracking, 8 shots to the head to kill anyone!!!!!!!!!, boring level design, awful grenade throws, shit sound, too many controls to piss about with (I refuse to use a bloody "control" pad on an FPS) DO NOT BUY THIS PILE OF POO!!!!! Wait for GRAW 2, which will probably be equally as turd.

If any one says this is good, there just too embarrased to admit buying it, and are trying to justify there ?24, or ?35 is your really unlucky!!

I'm off to trade mine in and buy something decent!! Apparently some fool in Gamestation will give me ?25 (ha ha ha) quid for it!! Wait for the reviews, they are going to slate this!! I'm off to play GRAW and Raven Shiled instead!!

I did think, by them using the unreal engine they gave up on the tactical aspects of the game from day one. Its been written for the 360. I guess they have given up on the realism aspects of it. The single player is very action pack (love the casino entrance & flying over vegas). I dont think graw 2 will be crap, I think their goin for total realism and tactics.

Has Gears of War had any influence on GRAW 2's development?

 

Dauba: We've been following Gears for a long time. Even before we released GRAW, Gears of War was supposed to be the 'next big thing' and we were actually thinking they would be releasing the game around the same time as GRAW 1, but they saved it for later on.

 

We see each other as competition; we set the benchmark in March with GRAW and Gears of War is raising the bar this Christmas and obviously we have a later target for taking it the next step after Gears of War.

 

Gears of War is a very good game to be honest; I like lots about the stuff that they are doing but at the same time it is in my opinion a very different experience. We're aiming for realism, they aimed for sci-fi - some of their character design is over the top and influenced by artists. We're looking for photo-realism.

 

The core gameplay of Gears of War is very simple, a very simple action sequence loop; you take cover, you aim and basically that's it. Ghost Recon in my opinion has a much deeper layer of tactical choices and the environments are actually different as well; Gears of War looks more or less the same to me - this type of destroyed city and destroyed environment.

 

We're designing our game as a more long-term experience. In my opinion if you play ten minutes of Gears of War it's an absolutely awesome ten minutes, but if you play 20 minutes it doesn't bring anything new. They've made something perfect for ten minutes but we try to go beyond that and making something that lasts for quite a few hours. It's a different game maybe but in my opinion we're aiming for something deeper and wider with a bigger scope.

I still havent received my copy from play.com yet.

 

There should be some dedicated server files available this week & I'm going to throw up a co-op server on our dedicated box for some tango hunts.

 

There's a very good tweak guide on the UBI R6:Vegas forums telling you how to fix alot of the visual problems you might be having along with some other interesting stuff.
