Hi all anyone been anywhere nice looking on going with the family this August, was looking at crete anyone been there or any places you guys would reccomend, want it family friendly beach close ect....

Ive been on a piss head holiday to crete wouldnt advise there, but some of the "family areas" were nice. Im goin cyprus this year with my girl friend. We were going cancun, but I don't believe in goin to a country where you need a jab/niddle to stay alive. We also were thinking of going sham el shake but my girl friend wants more of a night life, (shes also scared of getting spat at in the street for wearing bikini, death to the infidel).

I've been to Zante recently (of Zakinthos as it's sometimes called). Very family orientated, dead cheap, 3 or 4 great beaches. We went to Tsilivi which is the family bit and couldn't fault it, I would advise hiring a car though. Menorca is great as well, very similr to Zante. Some great family resorts there too, the most relaxed jaunt I have ever had.

Mauritius is very nice. Turkey is also very nice (Look up Belek.) Well, what is your budget (per person) I have been to turkey about 8 times. 5 star all inclusive super deluxe hotels there are cheap(er) there than most places. I had a great time each time. Good for family vacations. Just really nice hotels, any food at any time, multiple pools, bowling alleys, pool tables, multiple bars, discos, beaches, quite nice. In general club med holidays are ok. I have been on 3 and the one in Mauritius (I am half Mauritian) was good. Club med is sometimes cheaper too.
