Because LOK is always taking the piss cos I have every single game from the last century, I have decided to post my desk and my game shelf to give LOK a laugh! There are now more games, this also does'nt show my steam games or my "other" games if you get my drift!

The Icemat is very good. Apparently the ones to avoid are those Medusa things, they get awful reviews from everywhere! I have a Creative set that's made for my X-FI soundcard and it works great.

It was GR:AW 2 John, it was just Winsalot getying a bit upperty (he is new after all). Take no notice of him Panic, I explained that we are friends and he should be quiet! LOL

Well done Breaker! Same thing happened to me last year, a guy pulled a knife on me and demanded my wallet. I dopped it on purpose and he went to pick it up, there was literally an imprint of his face in the road after I'd finished "educating" him. He didn't wake up for 4 hours and I though I'd killed him!! Not nice! They are such idiots!!

Good one mate, Just one question, can you have say Downtown TDM, followed by say Strogpoint HH?? It doesn't look like you can because you can't change the game type without re-starting the server? but I'm a noob to this so thought I'd ask.

I've heard a lot of contradictory things about this. Fistly, I don't think may PC owners who already pay for broad band will pay an extra fee just to fill Bill Gates already bulging pockets. I've also heard that the plan to have cross platform servers where 360 and PC gamers can play each other cannot be done (and we'd own them anyway). I take it that the gold and silver thing will only apply to Micorsoft games? if so it will fall flat on it's arse as there will only be Halo3 that we'd be interested in, and will probably be avereage anyway (anyone remember Halo2?). I simply don't see the point in it. Sorry guys, Due to the amount of games I play I got confused. I thought "War Rock" was a game called "The Mark". The Mark is utter rubbish. War Rock looks quite promising and I will do a little demo review when I play it. Sorry once again fellas.

The XFI Extreme music version is about ?50. Apparently it's the same card only cut down a bit (as fars as connectors go). It still has the channels and the on board processor etc. Might be a better option for the more cash strapped of us. Mine arrives on Monday. By the way John, are you using surround sound headphones or regular ones with the virtual surround sound?? Quote "Many of the EAX features never really impressed me, but with the CMSS-3DHeadphone setting enabled, you get the most immersive sound experience yet in a video game. The effect encompasses you with a believable 3D field. You can hear sounds all around you, front, sides, behind, above, and below. There are still some mixing issues that affect the immersion, but this is much better than Creative's past efforts. It is much better than the Sensaura3D 2.0, in my opinion, especially with the MacroFX. To give you some sense of what I'm talking about, I first used to our reference Terratec DMX 6-fire with Sensaura3D. This setup provided a very transparent and accurate sound field. Then came the X-Fi with EAX HD 5.0. A game like BF2 makes situational awareness very important, which makes sound very important. With EAX and CMSS Headphone, it was easy to gauge which direction, height, and how far away a sniper shot was, thus making easy work to sneak up on the guy to knife or shock paddle for the big points. Comparing EAX with and without CMSS, it was not possible to do the above without the CMSS. Without CMSS, just regular EAX, some sounds were reversed, like the engine sounds in tanks and buggies. If I'm not mistaken, engine sounds should come from where the engine actually is, in the back. Other sounds, like reverb and ambient (turret whine), were not accurate either, by being too little. With the CMSS-3DHeadphone setting, the game provides you with a lot more sound information and sucks you fully and completely into the game. The EAX features actually seem to work, providing occlusion, masking, and reflection, among all the other bits of reverb and crispy, detailed gun sounds. Did you notice that ejected shells will make different sounds depending on the ground texture? I didn't until the X-Fi." Sounds like the mut's nuts to me fellas. It increases your frame rate as well. In about 90% of games it's about 10% !!!! Makes sense as the burden of sound is taken away from your processor. Don't even get me started on the fantastic on board sound that we get these days!! All my games ran about 25% faster when I got my Audigy 2. We should all get one. I think the WD grenade accuracy has just been explained!!

It got voted the biggst piece of shit since R6 Vegas. PC gamer gave it about 20 out of 100.Avoid like bird flu if you ask me. I played the demo and my PC tried to kill me cos it was so annoyed I put it on there!!

Hi mate, Get the best you can afford. If you have a PCIE motherboard that's 16xAGP then an 8800GS is the one to go for. It DX10 compatible too for when you get VISTA. They're going fo about ?270, and ?400 for the gobsmacking 8800GTS, maybe lower in some places. If that's too much, then either a NV 7950GT or 7900 will do for a while. Then there's the ATI 1950XT which is a great card as well. All depends on how much you have to spend really.
