.TuG.Atomicfire Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 just wanting to get a new headset but not to sure which 1 to get currectly looking at Creative HS Fatal1ty Gaming Headset http://uk.europe.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=437&subcategory=442&product=16337 Sharkoon X-Tatic 5.1 2nd Revision Dolby
.TuG.Beaver Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) Choice of 2 i'd say. My old super-duper ones were: Icemat Siberias (Black) One of the most comfortable headsets I've ever had, but the plug on the siberias developed an intermitent problem after about 18 months of solid use. The new pair I got at i30 were: Steelsound 5H v2 An awesome pair of headphones that are super responsive and cover the ears nicely - they also come apart which is good for travelling! I'd definately recommend the 5H v2's. Edited May 29, 2008 by .TuG.Beaver
.TuG.Tweak Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 I've had loads of different sets. The Creative Fatality are the ones I use and are fantastic (and the mic is better than any others in the Price range apparently). Creative do another set which my best mate has. to be honest I should have got these: http://www.purelygadgets.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=14347&wysiwyg=10 These are the best I've ever used.
.TuG.Sherriff Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Expensive but they'll be very good, can't go wrong with a nice pair of Sennheisers Sennheiser PC350 Cheers, Sherriff

Loy4lty Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 It would be alot easier to decide if you could try before you buy... Being a gamer also i would perfer to buy a set that was comfortable after many hours of gaming. You could spend alot of money on a set but soon be very annoyed when you experience headpains. I currently use Creative HS-400 They are very cheap and extremely light. They also sit behind your head which i found more comfortable as i did suffer headpains from head resting headsets. I've never had any prombles with microphones on headsets. I would think you need to consider: 1.price,2.comfort & 3.sound quality. I would pick (Creative HS Fatal1ty Gaming Headset) from that list as i have a creative card, but do shop around!!
.TuG.Tweak Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 My new edition of PC gamer have just arrived by post! They state that these a the best headset for gamers http://www.ciao.co.uk/Sennheiser_PC_160_Headset__6587631 They are usually right as well.

Tinker Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 No mic, but that is something I do not require. Have tried headset/mic before, I prefer a desktop mic here.
.TuG.Tweak Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 You'd think Bose would put a bloody mic on them though eh?

.TuG.Atomicfire Posted June 5, 2008 Author Report Posted June 5, 2008 cool jsut order 1 m8 btw would i work prefect with a creative SB Live! 24-bit (emulated) fine ?
.TuG.Tweak Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 They should do. I think it might depend on the game, but may people claim that using surround headphones set to "normal" mode with the Creative "CMSS 3D" emulation on works better? I remember when I got mine, we we're playing GRAW and GRAW2 and it fealt like a hack! You could close your eyes and shoot at sounds and still hit the targets as was demonstrated by Brock, remember that guys? We were getting accusations of wall hacking all over the place. lol
.TuG.Bulldog Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 My persoal fav with real surround sound thats (4 speakers in each ear!) SpeedLink Medusa SL-8793 5.1 ProGamer Edition Make sure its the pro gamer model the other one is not as good. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-026-SL&utm_source=froogle they work great as far as i am conserned and are the best ones i have used.
