  1. This is as good as it gets for a while.. yes this has the 'advanced' PCI slots and ?85 seems OK! Dabs.com have it at ?92 with only 1 in stock! Savastore have it listed at ?82:19 but a 3 day lead-time. I imagine this may be quite difficult to obtain to start with.. I am keeping my eyes peeled for any reviews as the board becomes more widespread.. at the moment actual HARD reviews, rather than press releases, are non-existant for this individual item! Sheesh, new technology eh!
  2. I have moved over to MSI for my mainboards now, as ASUS can be quite particular as to the OEM type memory used. You should take a look at MSI's new K8N Neo2 Platinum which is based on an nVIDIA? nForce3 Ultra Chipset with FSB 1000 and has, for your user-pleasure, Five 32-bit v2.3 Master PCI bus slots supporting the 3.3v/5v PCI bus interface. The link above has more details.. enjoy.
  3. I like them.. my last 2 systems have been nforce2 mainboard based.. It's just a matter of choosing a decent manufacturer!
  4. Check out AlienWare for their choice of Flat-Panel monitors including; the NEC 19" LCD 1960NXi-BK MultiSync, the NEC 20" LCD 2080UX+-BK MultiSync and the beastly NEC 30" LCD 3000 LCD. If it's good enough for Alienware then it's good enough for me! The ALX Games Machine gets me hard every time I visit the page! I am currently trying to convince the wife that the Aurora Extreme or the Area-51 Extreme would (equally) make an ideal Christmas present for yours truly...
  5. Dunno. Maybe one of these nice server admin people will know. I'm sure 'Red Sector' or 'Alpha Squad' could help out here..
  6. Nice one tinman. Catch you in theatre. Last one to die is a pufftie.
  7. Welcome matey! See you atop my iron-sights sometime..
  8. I spent an age working around using that wording and there he goes banging it in such a short sentence.. sheesh! I dunno, youth today!
  9. <_< Bloody Kids today - no respect, I say! no respect..
  10. Ok Ok ! I may have been playing GR since it first appeared but I'm afraid to say I am a complete n00b when it comes to RvS & AS. I have just taken receipt of my Ebay aquired AS CD's and have installed it today. Now all I need is some practice. I could not join either of the servers directly by using the 'join IP' option, it just said server did not respond - Sorting the list alphabetically I managed to find TUG #1 and joined that way.. no sign of number 2 though.. I look forward to playing RVS:AS with you all soon - but be prepared to offer an old man some assistance .. when I can't find the key combo to open a door or when my grenade just plops in front of me, or worse, the team! .. hehe
  11. Ahh yes.... B.R.E.E.D. ... I bought this when it was in the charts! You might like to pay visit to the CDV BREED FORUM where a number of people (including myself) frequent in order to discuss what a shockingly appaling game this is! *Just look for some of the posts by Lord-Tantalus - thats me!* The Publisher (CDV) and the writers (BRAT) have gone their separate ways, after CDV altered the code themselves 'in-house' and have ended up putting almost a BETA version out there on the shelves! It suffers from frequent crashes to desktop, stuttering audio, poor collision routines, freezes, bugs galore (like flying tanks!) and that's even after you apply the one and only patch! Running it takes an age - with STARFORCE3 CD copy protection you will not find a no-cd patch, which is a right pain in the backside! If you are lucky you will find a maximum of 2 servers being played.. which is a shame.. it could have been a contender (ish). I'd get your money back and buy a pointy stick to poke yourself in the eye with - it can sometimes be more fun than running around a map on your own waiting for people to join your server... IMHO..
  12. You may have answered this before somewhere (I don't know), what are your current specs then mate? Just in case I'm gonna run into trouble when the game arrives.. Mine at present: : XP2500+ Barton under Aero Cooler, on K7N2Delta mainboard with 1GB Samsung OEM PC3200 DDR supporting GeFX5600u AGP, spinning 2x120GB 7200rpm 8MB cache Hitachi HDD's, running XP pro O/S down a Plusnet ADSL connection, hiding behind a Speedstream 5861 Business Class Router with integrated 3 stage H/W firewall and backed up by Norton Internet Security 2004 Pro edition software.
  13. or a separate partition.. I have a ghost image (produced by Nortons Ghost) of my system after a clean install, with all updates & office installed - So if my system partition goes belly up I use my 'Ghost Boot disk' to get back to a reasonable starting stage.. (with 280GB of storage I have plenty of room for maneouvre!)
  14. Crikey! What Camouflage system is he using!!!!? He must have borrowed a perfect 'Adaptive Camouflage' suit from that alien "Predator" that had it's ass kicked by Arnie.. Either that or Bulldog has managed to perfect an Active Pixel Sensor (APS) Array and cross-connected fibre-optic network within standard 'combat 95' clothing... Hey! Someone best tell the MOD!
  15. Profile updated (Athena Sword addon & Soldner being purchased as we speak!). All the others currently installed.
  16. Tantalus

    Cya kids!

Guess that could be true enough.. he may also bring back an up-to date dictionary..
  17. Looks Good - A trifle complicated when you first get there.. have registered with the forum anyway.. just in case (another password for my Nortons Password manager to handle!).
  18. Welcome HellDuB. Honeymoon.. ah yes.. ( reminiscence ) .. Lovely times.. Caribbean.. sun.. clear waters.. Since found out the best way to stop any girlfriend from giving you a b**w job is to marry her.. <_<
  19. I thought I would just add this 'public' thread to say a hearty "Well Done" and give a firm handshake to all those hard working admins who have worked hard to improve the look and feel of the main TUG webpage. It is a shining example of what a php homepage should be, with a broad range of easily accessible navigational links and information and downloads. Thank you. May the membership continue to expand ... until at last.. .. we rule the world!!! muuuhahaha! muuuhahaha! muuuhahaha! sorry - got a bit carried away again .. Nurse, more porridge please..
  20. I'm looking to buy 'HALO'. ==> Play.Com do it for ?14:99 including vat & delivery. Is this the best deal out there for a brand new item?! <_< Shall I buy it?!
  21. CAT6! Jeez! You must be going some! I normally use Cat 5e, which has always been more than adequate; stand-fast my US military buddies on a 'Cray Fibre-optic circular network configuration' ! 22. Excellent ! Having updated to 1.4 before the server I was left out in the cold! I have now even managed to create a Hardware firewall security script that allows me to maintain both my EN5861 Router Firewall and Nortons Internet Security (2004 pro) AND STILL SEE+JOIN GAMES!!! whhoohooo! Call me Mr.Invisible! So see y'a in tha server ya pufftees - an' 'al dee yee the noo!! (or something NEDish like that...)
  23. As regards my PM comments wrt currency and name options for the direct paypal link, this can be updated within the 'Merchants Tools' section of Paypal using the Website payments 'Buy Now Buttons' option. Here you can specify what the payment is for, any reference number you may choose to allocate, price, currency, as well as 'other options' such as user notes and html pages for custom messages (eg: a 'You have paid' page or a 'Donation unsuccessful' page). I have used these codes regularly when I used to finance and run my own Clan's Teamspeak server and to great success. Tara the noo Regards TAnT (Ebay Guru & Merchant!)
  24. $10 donated from my paypal account just now.. so if you receive a payment from Bryan.Dxxxx@the-dxxxxs.co.uk (edited for privacy) for the amount of $10 (US) then you'll know it's from me.
  25. I like the cut of your gib young man! A most pleasant occular receiving for all digital-media perambulators! (and it looks nice for visitors too).
