Thank you Bundu for your informative and educational reply.. Given your profound independant advice am I to believe that you may be getting some sort of 'back-hander' from insurance companies?! Checking certain brokers on the internet, the size of bike to which you refer would have me paying almost ?1k per annum for insurance!! Add that to my CSA payments, 3 cars, two horses, two dogs, loans and mortgage and you end up with a rather large "Get tae f**k ya derft prek" or so I've been told by my wife ..besides, I'm far too old and far too interested in my own well-being to jump on such a hog given my current riding experience - and if you had to ride the muddy cow-dung infested back roads of Scotland that I have to travel daily then you'd forgive me my indulgence; in the ten years I have driven the roads there has not been one single month when there hasn't been an upturned car somewhere enroute and I don't intend anyone passing my shiny leather-clad ass sticking out from a ditch on some foggy scottish morning at half-past five!

After spending 23 hours out of the last 36 driving a 7.5 tonne truck from Dunfermline to Portsmouth, loading the contents of a house and driving back, getting a phone call half way up the M6 saying my wife was in hospital under observation for a 'heart flutter', getting stuck in traffic on the M74 due to an overturned caravan and Range-Rover, getting home feeding the dogs, visiting my wife and eventually getting to bed in the early hours this morning - I still did it ... even though I had a BMW driver try his hardest to run me down during my U-turn and mad pedestrians throwing themselves into the road in front of me and wearing non-breathable black cordura on a day which could have melted sand .. I passed my Part II (DAS) Motorcycle Test on a Honda CBF500 with only '1 Minor' on the balance sheet (for a swan-neck on a right hand bend which I knew I had approached too fast) having not ridden a motorbike in 20+ years until last week! All that remains to be done is to buy a bike; bearing in mind insurance, reliability and the fact that I cover 146 miles a day to work and back, I'm almost set on getting myself a 'brand-spankers' 600cc version of the CBF, complete with ABS. Watch out Scotland here I come ...

If your bro' says he is suffering 'lag' on a local lan game then the fault probably lies with his machine - he should lower his quality settings somewhat to see if it makes a difference, as well as stopping any unwanted background tasks/programs. He's probably got it up at 32bit with all settings on 'high'...

It depends on whether you are willing to sign up for a contract or whether you are wanting pay&go. I have just got myself the new Sony Ericsson K750i. It is the first phone to have a 2.0 Megapixel Camera, complete with bright LED flash and digital zoom. It has 34MB of Internal memory and also comes with a 64MB Sony Memory Stick Duo (Thats 98MB total). I have since added a 256MB stick so I can store more mp3 music to listen to, but there is nothing to stop you adding a 1GB stick to add even more CD's.. Other features include an RDS FM radio, MP3 Ringtones, mediaplayer, Video capture, Bluetooth, Infra-red, GPRS, Internet, Email (including pop3) and lots of other features. I got this phone free on an O2 Tariff, but be aware that they are quite hard to get hold of at the moment, with most phone shops actually holding only one in stock - I had to wait 3 days to get mine..

How about something like Chromosome or Battlefield ?? The only problem with this site is there are so many fonts to chose from you forget which ones you liked!! BTW, The logo with the Tank etc is Fantastic, Oh (and this is only an idea so don't get all anal on me) because we are 'primarily' a European Team how about having an EU flag merged faintly into the background behind our Team Name... I found a nice silky one Oh how 'pc' of me eh!? PS : I hope we all get a mini version of our nice new logo with our names on them to replace our current signature blocks

New Monitor for BF2 ?
Tantalus replied to Tantalus's topic in Computers / Consoles / Mobile Phones / Gadgets
Everywhere - They just aint here yet... Not even shopacer has them in stock!! -
I'm looking to get a new monitor to maximise my enjoyment of BF2 (once it arrives). At the moment top of my list is the new Acer AL1951(glare), one of the new 5 series from Acer, with an 8ms response time and a 700:1 contrast ratio. Unfortunately I have found nowhere in the UK that is actually stocking them as yet!

Suck-Back on my last ..... Have just patched Nero to the latest versions and have produced an MP4 file (using the 'mobile' profile) that played on the K750i .. Now where did i put those 'special interest' DVD's ??

I'm afraid it's all a matter of whats-done-is-done now; I have just purchased a GlobalSat BC307X direct from Taiwan for ?47 including delivery. It should be with me in about 5 working days Next stop - a bigger Memory Stick Duo card for my SonyEricsson K750i .... PS.. Anyone know of a 'free' converter for movie files to the mobile phone MP4 format? I have tried NERO Digital (MP4) format but it doesn't play them!

I have recently aquired a copy of TomTom Navigator 5 and am now looking to get the hardware to go with it. I have a Dell Axim X50 Pocket PC, the CF Type2 slot of which is currently unused; hence my desire for a CompactFlash GPS unit. So far I am looking at either a Globalsat BC-307 or a Rikaline X6 What do ya think?

My new gaming mouse
Tantalus replied to .TuG.Beaver's topic in Computers / Consoles / Mobile Phones / Gadgets
I had one of those on my christmas list but never got it - the wife ordered one from overclockers.co.uk, along with a gaming mousemat, but due to the amount of orders they had for the festive period I would not get it in time & so she cancelled the whole thing  hey ho - but she bought me a laptop in the meantime so I musn't grumble It looks 'the dogs' - but, my ol' mate beaver, I doubt even that mouse can stop you eating as much 'in-game' lead [or so I've heard]
