To save you time, all of the custom maps that run on the TUG HL2DM server can be downloaded directly from my personal webspace at the links below: DarkCity Forest Fortress Docks Tower Refinery Harbour Crossfire2 Motel Stoka

There is no signature html there at all .. viewing the page 'source code' shows beaver to have the following line of html below his post: <div class="signature"><a href='http://www.clantug.com' target='_blank'>TUG</a>|Founder<br /><a href='http://www.teamwarfare.com' target='_blank'>Teamwarfare</a>|Competition Director Europe<br /><img src='http://www.clantug.com/images/sigs/new_tug_beaver_sig.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /></div> whereas you have nothing.. No code=No signature block. Check your BB code is good within your control options and also make sure the [ ] Enable Signature box, which appears below the typing box, is ticked every time you post.. You could post your signature block text here to see if we can find any errors.. Just my 2p's worth..

I think I may have the wrong crypto in ... or the batteries in my bablefish have run down ... I'm currently wearing an expression not dissimilar to an American receiving directions from a broad Glaswegian ... coz I didn't grasp that at all... -
..and yes, it is always up - or as near always as I can make it. Currently it's me vs the memory error as to how long it stays available.. check by IP and add it to your 'steam' favourites as mentioned above.. But be prepared to spend most of it looking at your corpse if I'm in the server.. (muumhahaha... muumuhahahah)

Currently the HL2DM server is suffering from a fatal error about every 24 hours or so. The error reads: "The Instruction at 0x####### referenced memory at 0x#######. The memory could not be read". This has been posted numerous times on most of the HL forums and is also featured in the steam forums Here. Valve are supposedly working towards a fix, although they appear to be a bit perplexed. They blame users Hardware but we know that not to be the case here and I have appended a reply at the above forum stating this fact. If the server starts behaving strangely then it could be leading up to this error; some signs are warping, unable to select different weapon and/or control difficulties. For gamers/visitors Please notify an administrator via this forum, msn messenger or PM and the Server will be restarted at the earliest convenience. Thank you for your forebearance.

The server was near to full yesterday evening, as was the HL2:DM server.. but we need more maps and map rotation for HL2:DM - people were getting bored with the same map and leaving... We really could do with some sort of a server configuration utility for the use of the Server Admins via the RAdmin console. I have tried a server.cfg file (you can find this in the TUG directory beaver) on the HL2:DM server when it was empty but it had no effect on map rotation, timing, frag limits etc. Currently the server is open to hackers/slashers/banned IP's and has no specified 'limits' or 'rotation'. We especially need one or two 'spectator' slots for clan/admin! The sooner we can configure this baby the better it will be... IMO

Spybot DSO Exploit Errors.
Tantalus replied to Tantalus's topic in Computers / Consoles / Mobile Phones / Gadgets
Panic ? That's something I never do as far as PC's are concerned.. It's just sometimes my 'long term memory ram' needs a reboot to refresh the service, I can't remember the last time I truly forgot something ... ...and yes, you are correct, it is IE related; for the downloading of Active-X controls, in particular for the 'hidden' Zone 0 or 'My Computer' as it is more commonly known. I have written a .reg file which when executed/merged into the registry will automatically over-write certain keys with ones of the correct type and value. Unfortunately I cannot preempt everyone's problem registry keys, just the more common ones.... but it's a safer bet for those that are not as adept at 'registry hacking' as others. -*-*-*-*-*-*-* For those interested copy the entire text below into a new .txt file and save it with an appropriate name eg., DSO Patch.txt rename this .txt file to have a .reg extension. execute this .reg file and you will be asked if you want to add the information to the registry.. answer according to your sexual preference.. *-*-*-*-*-*Copy below this line*-*-*-*-*-* REGEDIT4 [HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0] @="" "1004"=- "1004"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-19\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0] @="" "1004"=- "1004"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-20\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0] @="" "1004"=- "1004"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0] @="" "1004"=- "1004"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0] @="" "1004"=- "1004"=dword:00000003 *-*-*-*-*-*Copy above this line*-*-*-*-*-* -
Spybot DSO Exploit Errors.
Tantalus posted a topic in Computers / Consoles / Mobile Phones / Gadgets
Having just done a full system rebuild I was suprised at the amount of 'spyware' I had collected. Once everything had been removed using the usual suspects of Spybot & Adaware etc I was still left with 5 DSO exploits within spybot. These return even after fixing them. Luckily, many months ago, I had kept a .txt file on a separate partition into which I had typed the solution to this problem. I place the contents here just in case I lose it and for the benefit of the public in general. ***************** Problem:- Spybot Scan returns 4 or 5 errors similar to following: DSO Exploit at- HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0\1004!=W=3 HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0\1004!=W=3 Running 'fix selected problem' appears to solve errors. Further scan produces exactly same resulting DSO Exploits. Continue ad-infinitum.... Information:- Spybot is detecting a 'hidden' security zone (zone zero) which refers to 'My Computer', which is not visible by default. This zone would normally appear under the Security tab of Internet Options control panel. The registry value of 1004 relates to the downloading of Active-X controls, which by default is enabled. A value of '0' will allow by default. '1' is manual, '3' is disabled. Spybot is looking for these values to be '3'. Using Spybot's auto-fix unfortunately alters these keys to the wrong type, changing them to a string value (REG_SZ) instead of a DWORD value (REG_DWORD). Thus when it comes to check them again they are still wrong! SOLUTION:- The best solution is to manually edit the registry and set the values. Open Registry Editor (REGEDIT) and navigate to the first affected key, say for example HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0 In the right hand pane find the 1004 value. This is incorrectly a REG_SZ value instead of a REG_DWORD. Right-click and [DELETE] this value. Right-click again and select [New..] then [DWORD Value]. This will produce a REG_DWORD value called [New Value #1]. Rename this to 1004 and give it a value of 3,hexidecimal or decimal, it does not matter which. Quit registry editor and run spybot again. This value will now not show up as a problem. However, there may still be other very similar registry keys that will produce an error. Fix these in the same way as above. Some of the registry entries found to be affected are as follows: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0 HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0 HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-19\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0 HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-20\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0 HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0 The above list is not exhaustive. search for any affected 'Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet\Settings\Zones\0'keys and manually fix them as stated. This problem has yet to be addressed in Spybot S&D.... -
Unfortunately they are everywhere .. Even for this game there are speed-hacks, AimBots etc etc

The Banned List has a rather large txt file with all current steam ID bans for HL/HL2/CS:S for integration into servers banned.cfg Should we integrate this into our server sometime? We would need to 'exec banned.cfg' within the server.cfg followed by 'writeid' and 'writeip' as far as I can make out.... over to you...
-
Get exactly the same .... I'm confused.
-
Just can't seem to connect.. at all

What's this friends server in 'Steam' then? When ever I try to sign in nothing much happens apart from a message saying I can't! Does this friends server thing actually work?? For information my 'friendly name' as used for HL2 & CSS is: Chimera-Incognius Feel free to add it to your friends list. Maybe any others could also post theirs here so we can all add them..

I've seen it - This unit retails at ?199 in PC World. I have also found the GeForce 6600GT 128MB AGP for ?158 at Planet Micro, ?145 at Dabs and the next model up, the 128MB GF 6800TD by MSI for a (close) ?194. So have a good shop around before you spend all your hard earned cash on a PC World 'Promise' of stamping down on prices (my erse).. Christmas just gone and still got all that money to spend!? Send it down to Dunfermline if you want!.. I'm a charity case.. honest.. -
Me too - have been in and out of the servers all day!! hehehehe
-
Got the game today (Xmas day) - have installed and patched etc.. now just need to get to grips with it! Ho ho ho... Merry Christmas!

Tantalus replied to .TuG.Bulldog's topic in Computers / Consoles / Mobile Phones / Gadgets
It sounds like an infection of Worm.Win32.Raleka.a. If an attack is successful a program file called 'down.com' is created and run on the victims machine. This program loads the files 'svchost32.exe (the worm file), 'service.exe' (a auxiliary file that loads services) and 'ntrootkit.exe' (Backdoor.RtKit). By destroying your Service.exe file your machine can no longer run any services.. oops. Technical Details from Symantec: HERE Details from VirusList.com: HERE -

Thought I might share my latest 'Secret Santa' creation with you all. I made it using a pot of "Van Helsing Slime" from the pound shop and a set of plastic creatures from the 'Early learning centre' called life-cycle of a frog. The label I made up using various web images.. The story behind it is this: When ashore in Belize my current Boss was sitting, slightly drunk on a bench along with an RAF drinking buddy. Turning to my Boss the RAF guy says, "Watch this.." picks up a tiny bright green frog from the grass and 'seemingly' eats it - unknown to my boss he had just thrown it over his shoulder and made the necessary chewing motions.. Not one to be outdone by a 'crab-fat', my boss says "Thats f**k all.. " and grabs a slightly bigger one of an almost flourescent green and chomps it down.. Now all was fine for about half an hour.... then it was projectile vomiting etc etc.. needless to say after a medical examination he was rushed to hospital where he spent over a week on a drip, the authorities were close to flying his family out in order to issue the last rites, but he eventually pulled through.. Due mainly in some part to his rather large size.. a smaller man would have probably died. I'm sure we all know about those nasty bright green tree-frogs etc., sometimes called 'Poison Arrow' frogs, don't we? Best not to eat them then eh!? So the story told here is my 'Secret Santa' gift to my boss: A jar of Pot-Frog and the latest issue of Amphibian Chef Magazine: HO Ho HO - Merry Christmas!!

Hardware Problem
Tantalus replied to Tantalus's topic in Computers / Consoles / Mobile Phones / Gadgets
OK! That's it, I am now officially a dumb old fart.. I am relinquishing my IEng status and membership of the Engineering Council of Great Britain and returning my Microsoft Certifications by first class mail.. to-whit: I physically removed the card, uninstalled the software, cleaned the registry & did a 'new' install.. Playback=Fine. Recording=No Luck.. Repeat the above again: No Luck.. I removed the card, threw it into my spares box, uninstalled the software, cleaned the registry and then Installed my MSI Mainboard's inbuilt 5.1 nVidia sound system.. Playback=Fine. Recording=No Luck!? I checked the plug connections, I tested the Mainboard output and (gamevoice) headset's continuity with a multimeter.. all fine.. but still no input from the mic.. Plugged a new mic into the gamevoice socket.. No luck. Plugged the Gamevoice USB lead back into my USB hub so I could see if a driver was missing.. Bing-Bong - XP detects Gamevoice device.. I look up from under my desk and the mass of wires and test equipment to note the Red Indication at center of the Gamevoice.. I lean forward and de-select the adjacent 'Mute' button ................. -
I will not be able to join TS until I have uninstalled, removed, re-seated and re-installed my Temperamental Creative SB Audigy2 soundcard... which I will do tomorrow sometime.. I've had to do this once before.. It seems to be a known 'common' trait amongst creative cards... F**n' piece of s**...

Concurr with the above change in Port numbers. The original port number of 8780 is currently sending us to the }}FA||en Angels in-clan tournament server. Changing the url to include the 8783 (in the IE address bar) directs us to the TUG server, where it is then possible to access the webadmin. The Game port has also changed to 12223 as detailed above. This just means finding it and adding it to your favourites again... I did have to restart it to get it to appear in the browser list this evening but it's there now.. These ports remain unchanged as at 17:00 GMT.

With regards to stats - I seem to have 2 entries on the Kill statistics table. One in 8th place the other on the 42nd place. Should these not be combined? The 8th place entry does not return any data, only the 42nd place.. and I was 7th last week until that Zauberer sprang out of nowhere.. 1232 Kills and I haven't even bumped into him yet!! Twat
